Armor of self discipline

Armor of self discipline

Self discipline has bigger effect on academic performance and business growth than intellectual talent and business acumen.

Self discipline is defined personally, that’s why it’s called self discipline. But it can be learned, which means it can be taught. Although your feelings are yours, your emotions are yours, your purpose and pursuit are yours, you can learn how to control these things. But the application of it into your life is personal. The way I apply self discipline in my life doesn’t have to be the same way you apply yours.

One thing that is unavoidable when it comes to self discipline is discomfort. No matter how you choose to apply self discipline, no matter the method you choose to adopt, it comes with discomfort. There’re pains and stress that comes with living a disciplined life, but those are positive pains and positive stress. To truly pursue a purpose in life, means you have to at some point venture into the unknown, and those unknown are not always pleasant. Self discipline will help you to go through those dark corners and shadowy tunnels. There may even be times when you question the things you do, when you have that doubt whether you are on the right path or not, self discipline will help you to keep moving.

I was privileged to talk to many people last week, even people that dwell on negativity. I observed that when people can’t measure their outcome, when it seems like whatever they are doing is not yielding results the way they want, they tend to give up or lose passion. But I also observed that the ones with greater self discipline seem to show up and still engage no matter what or how they feel, because to them a culture has been built through discipline.

I ONCE HEARD SOMEONE SAID; “THERE ARE ONLY TWO PAINS IN LIFE, THE PAIN OF DISCIPLINE AND THE PAIN OF REGRET.” Which do you prefer?

I have a great question for you my friend; Do you think a little bit of self discipline this week will make a difference in your pursuit?

PUT ON YOUR ARMOR OF DISCIPLINE.
